Step One:  Contact One of Our Qualified Recruitment Specialists

Our physician recruiters are not your “standard” recruiters.  We come from the physician recruitment industry and have nearly a hundred years of combined recruitment experience.  Healthcare Connections is made up of a team of industry executives and leaders who have come together to be the only recruiting company our candidates will ever need.

Step Two:  Discuss Your Employment Goals

Your consultant will discuss your employment goals, in detail, to make certain that we have a clear understanding of your interests, goals, and needs.  We take every aspect of your life, and lifestyle, into consideration as we approach your search. Your consultant will work thoughtfully as they take into account your short and long term professional goals, your family and geographic needs, and income and benefit expectations. It’s like having a personal employment coach working alongside you!

Step Three:  Prepare Your Necessary Information

Before we begin your search your consultant will review and advise any necessary changes, or needed improvements, to your job search portfolio.  As you begin your search, you should have the following items available:

  1. A current curriculum vitae
  2. Letters of Recommendation
  3. Professional References with whom you have worked with within the past 12 months
  4. Detailed explanation of any gaps in employment
  5. Detailed explanation of any past, pending, dismissed, or settled malpractice claims
  6. List of current and inactive state licenses

Step Four:  Job Search

Your consultant will be working hard to screen and qualify positions that meet your specific criteria.  Because the law of supply and demand also exists in the medical community, we recommend you have an open mind in considering opportunities that meet most of your criteria, but you are always in control of your search.  Your information is kept in strictest confidence, and your information will ONLY be provided to clients with whom YOU wish to speak, and ONLY when you have granted your permission to allow your information to be transferred to potential employers.

Step Five:  Phone Interview

Once you have determined which positions you would like to consider, we will submit your information to the client and assist in coordinating a telephone interview.  This interview will often occur within 48 hours, when possible, after we have submitted your CV.  Not only will we coordinate this interview with your availability, but we will guide you through the entire process to make certain that you are completely prepared to make an exceptional impression on the client.  Prior to your telephone interview we will provide you with details about the client, the community, the opportunity, and even suggested phone interview questions, and guidelines we recommend that our candidates follow for a successful phone interview.

Step Six:  Phone Interview Feedback

After you complete your phone interview, your consultant will contact the client to get valuable post-interview feedback to determine the client’s interest in pursuing an on-site interview.

Step Seven: The On-Site Interview

This is your chance to shine!  Your consultant will work closely with you throughout this process to ensure that you have all the information to conduct a positive, professional and effective interview.  We will even take you through a brief “Communication 101” review course, which our doctors always praise, because often you overlook the very small things that communicate very large statements in a job interview.  Our consultants work closely to make certain that you do not fall into those pitfalls!

Step Eight: On-Site Interview Feedback

Upon completion of your on-site interview your consultant will be in immediate contact with the client to get all the details of the interview, as well as their interest in extending you an employment offer.  This is also your chance to provide your thoughts and feedback on the interview.  Your consultant wants to hear what you liked, what you need more information on, and any questions or concerns you may have.  Your consultant will also work with you to send thank you notes and provide additional information in a timely manner.

Step Nine:  You’re Hired!

Every job offer is unique – you will be tempted to compare your offer with your colleagues, but your consultant can assist you in understanding industry standards and common benefits.  Your previous discussions with your consultant will allow them to help you in knowing if you have received a competitive offer based on the location, type of practice, and other variables.  Your consultant is available to assist you in negotiating the terms of your offer, reviewing your contract, and answering any questions you have.  Your consultant is going to be by your side throughout the entire process, and this will be your opportunity to celebrate the big win – you have secured your ideal job!

Healthcare Connections’ recruiting consultants will assist you every step of the way – you will never be left to navigate the process on your own.  We measure our success on our doctor’s satisfaction!
